About the artist
I am a wife, mum, and art addict with 3 cats and a hamster, based in beautiful North Wales. I hail originally from the North East of England.
I have always enjoyed painting and drawing and I joined the MA Fine Art programme at the University of Chester (where I also currently work supporting students in the Careers team) and finished it in 2020.
What’s my art about?
how we ‘frame’ what others see of us, the private self versus the public, the unseen and unheard, inside/outside, visible-invisible, the stage, and the theatre. Much of this is derived from my own experience of living with daily with persistent pain (Fibromyalgia).
emotions, bursts of energy, push-pull, and power struggles.
voices, narratives, and stories - I also support and coach university students to find and tell their own stories.
traces, layers, memories (sometimes barely remembered/ seen), history, landscape, nature, connection-disconnection, what's beneath the surface, boundaries, marks.
how each line, form, pattern, and texture disrupts the one beneath it, creating a unique process of discovery.
Each painting is original and will not be repeated. My original abstract, landscape and still-life paintings are in private collections in the UK and the USA. I love to connect with fellow art lovers, collectors, and artists, so please find me on Instagram.
What I can do for you
I make my art available for exhibitions. I also provide finished works of art to individual collectors.
I can help you to consider how to select the right size and colour paintings for the space(s) you have.
I can provide art on a rental basis to businesses - give your staff a change of scenery in your offices/ workplaces and show that you’re considering their wellbeing. Rental is UK-only. Contact me for details.
I can give presentations (online and face-to-face) to universities, artist groups, or other groups who want to hear about my work, processes and life.
