The Soundtrack to a Painting
I love musicals, singing and listening to music. I get that from my late dad who was on stage at any chance he could in his spare time. So, you know that when you purchase a painting of mine, there has often been some kind of music in the background, or maybe not even so much in the background (ha - blasting out with me singing along to it!).
What kind of music, I hear you ask? Does a subtle painting mean it’s been constructed with calm, classical music? And does a vibrant energetic one mean a blast of rock, or a wild, hair-flipping, wiggling, dance music number? Ha - sometimes, yes.
While people like to see what goes on in an artist’s studio - the paints, brushes, rags, paintings as they build and change, I thought instead this time it would be good to share some of the music I listen to while I am painting. I warn you, it’s eclectic.
